As more and more websites use your target keywords with a link to your web page, search engine rankings for that keyword will go up too.

Keep in mind however, that this is not a guaranteed method of SEO and traffic. Results are going to vary widely and this will require some testing on your part. Even the best written article may not bring the exact result you want but hopefully you will gain exposure.

Use different articles to point to different pages of your site - the inner niches of it in a way. For example an article about widget1 should link to a page all about widget1 and an article about bobblehead1 should link to a page about bobblehead1.
Each article should be written as you would write an individual web page for your site, using specific keywords, writing style, and valid points about your topic.
Be careful not to keyword stuff or over use jargon related to your subject. This could be seen as an attempt to game the SE and have the opposite effect of what you are looking for. Write with a natural flow and sprinkle keywords in where they would fall.
